This cosplay was a big step outside of my comfort zone. Aside from not being comfortable with portraying a very "sexy" character, I also was uncomfortable working with knits! I spent a couple years searching for the perfect pink fabric and when I came across this scuba knit, I knew I had to push my own boundaries to make this happen. I self drafted and sewed the dress, ruffles, bikini top, and bikini bottoms. Meme-chan's skirt has very defined pleats, but her animation has so much flow to the skirt and I really wanted to embody both of those elements which is where I came up with the idea of doing a pleated circle skirt (which was not a new concept, but was very new to me)! I'm particularly proud of how the finished product both looks and moves. I didn't have any luck finding an exact blue-white striped fabric, so I hand-painted my own for the bikini. Overall, I think all the elements of this came together super cleanly and I'm super proud of this otherwise very simple cosplay.
