I started this cosplay in 2021 but hated the wig, so it sat until I completely redid it with new materials in 2026. I wanted to elevate Sonia's look to match her "ultimate princess" energy, so I used teal polyester dupioni and focused on hand-embroidered details and custom embellishments. This was a rare instance where I started with a pre-made bodice pattern, but I altered it so significantly and drafted my own skirt pattern that it became entirely my own. The velvet bow embossing is subtle and doesn't photograph well, but I know it's there!
